J&H Filling is a contract filling and fulfilment business based in Salford. We fill, pack and ship products for a range of clients, from one-off runs to repeat production. Small team, hands-on, everyone mucks in.
The role
We’re looking for someone to run the day-to-day of the floor — production and warehouse. This isn’t a desk job. You’ll be setting up and running the filling machines yourself, then organising the team and the schedule around them.
What you’ll be doing
- Setting up, changing over and running the filling, capping and labelling machines
- Basic maintenance, cleaning down and troubleshooting when a line stops
- Planning the production schedule against customer orders and deadlines
- Managing a small team on the floor — allocating work, keeping standards up
- Keeping stock of raw materials and packaging accurate, flagging what needs ordering
- Making sure each job is filled to the right recipe and spec, and quality-checked before it ships
- Keeping the place clean, safe and compliant
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on experience with production or filling machinery — able to set a machine up from scratch, not just press start
- Mechanically minded; comfortable stripping a machine down and putting it back together
- Experience running a small team or a production line
- Organised — can juggle several jobs at different stages without losing track
- Reliable and happy to get stuck in when it’s busy
- Right to work in the UK
Helpful, but not essential
- Background in cosmetics, food, chemicals or similar filling environments
- Forklift or counterbalance licence
- Working knowledge of health & safety and GMP/hygiene standards
- Experience with stock systems
What we offer
- £32,00 - £36,00 depending on experience
- 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday,
