Firewood delivery driver, Landscaping & Tree Surgery Operative
We are seeking a motivated multi-skilled Firewood Delivery Driver and Landscaping & Tree Surgery Operative to join our dynamic team. This role combines the essential duties of delivering firewood efficiently while supporting landscaping and tree surgery projects. The ideal candidate will be passionate about outdoor work, possess strong driving skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment that values safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking firewood deliveries. Deliveries are made using a 4x4 pick-up and trailer, so previous towing experience is preferred.
- Production, packing and delivery of firewood.
- Assisting with tree surgery work.
- Assisting with landscaping work.
- Assisting managers with general ad hoc duties across both business.
- Working safely and responsibly while carrying out all duties.
- Ensuring that the relevant admin is completed for each delivery/job.
- Maintaining a professional and polite approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience driving 3.5-tonne vehicles.
- A reliable and responsible approach to driving and vehicle use.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Positive, punctual and motivated approach to work.
- Ability to work as part of a team and carry out tasks independently.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Hardworking and motivated.
- Adaptable and willing to undertake a variety of tasks.
- Practical and able to solve problems.
- Comfortable working outdoors and carrying out physical, hands-on work.
- Professional and polite when dealing with customers and colleagues.
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Previous experience in landscaping and/or tree maintenance.
- Experience towing a trailer.
- Forklift experience/licence. Training will be provided.
- Chainsaw licence and experience.
- Aerial rescue certificate.
