Overview
A community pharmacy role with a different direction. We are looking for an enthusiastic Community Pharmacist to join Bampton Pharmacy as we develop the pharmacy from a strong dispensing base into an increasingly clinical, service-led pharmacy.
The pharmacy is owned by Amicus Health, a local GP partnership. This creates a genuinely unusual opportunity to work closely with primary care colleagues, improve the way patients move between general practice and community pharmacy, and help shape services around the needs of the local population.
You will join a stable and experienced core pharmacy team and work with Titan PMR. We want to preserve the team's strong day-to-day problem solving and patient relationships while giving the pharmacist the authority and support to improve workflow, develop people, and expand clinical services.
What makes the role different?
- A pharmacy owned by a GP partnership, with direct opportunities for joined up working with GPs, practice pharmacists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- A clear ambition to grow Pharmacy First and other NHS and locally commissioned clinical services.
- Support to develop consultation and advanced clinical skills, with the potential over time to gain experience within general practice where this fits the pharmacist's development and the needs of the organisation.
- A stable core pharmacy team, with the opportunity to provide professional leadership, coaching and service direction.
- Titan PMR and a commitment to using technology and efficient workflows to release pharmacist time for patient-facing care.
- The opportunity to influence how an independent community pharmacy develops, with access to the clinical expertise and support of a wider primary care organisation.
The role
Alongside the core responsibilities of a community pharmacist and Responsible Pharmacist, you will have a meaningful leadership role. You will help set professional standards, support and develop the team, improve workflow and safety, and take ownership of increasing the quality and volume of clinical service delivery.
We would particularly like to hear from pharmacists who
- are GPhC registered and confident delivering safe, high-quality community pharmacy care;
- enjoy working with and developing a pharmacy team;
- want to spend more of their career using clinical and consultation skills;
- are interested in Pharmacy First, prevention, long-term condition support and the expanding clinical role of community pharmacy;
- are comfortable improving processes and using data to identify missed service opportunities;
- value collaborative working and would enjoy building relationships with local general practice colleagues.
What we offer
- Competitive salary of £57,500–£65,000 depending on experience and leadership responsibilities.
- 42.5 hour permanent contract, with the working pattern agreed as part of appointment.
- Supportive GP partnership ownership and access to a wider multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Professional development and CPD, including support to develop enhanced clinical and consultation skills.
- Potential future opportunities to gain experience in general practice/primary care, subject to skills, service needs and appropriate training.
- Autonomy to help shape pharmacy services, workflow, and team development.
To apply: Please send a CV and short covering statement explaining what attracts you to the role and how you would help develop a modern, service-led community pharmacy.
