Part-Time Porter – Commercial Removals and Distribution

Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking part-time Porter to join our team at our Reading depot on a zero-hours contract.
This is a hands-on role where you will work as part of a crew, assisting with commercial removals, distribution work and specialist technology moves. You will help load and unload vehicles, move office furniture and equipment, and ensure all items are handled safely and professionally.
We operate throughout the UK, with much of our work taking place in London. All shifts will start from our Reading depot.
Job Description
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely
- Working inside client buildings alongside the removal team
- Moving office furniture, equipment and technology
- Protecting, wrapping and securing items during transportation
- Using removal equipment such as skates, sack barrows and lifting equipment
- Assisting with office relocations, deliveries and internal moves
- Keeping vehicles, equipment and working areas clean and tidy
- Following health and safety requirements and company procedures
- Providing a professional service while representing the company
- Completing company training in furniture fitting and IT decommissioning and recommissioning
Working Hours
- This is a part-time, zero-hours position with no guaranteed hours
- Shifts will be offered depending on business requirements and the employee’s availability
- Once booked and confirmed for a shift, employees will receive a minimum of nine hours’ pay
- Shifts may include early starts, late finishes, weekends and occasional night work
- Overtime may be available when required
- All shifts start from our Reading depot

- The ability to travel to and from our Reading depot for all accepted shifts
Previous experience in commercial removals, distribution, furniture fitting or IT relocation would be beneficial, but full training will be provided.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
