Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Catering Engineer to join our team, dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of catering equipment and facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of equipment performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the delivery of exceptional catering services. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all catering equipment, including ovens, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals to identify root causes quickly and accurately.
- Repair or replace faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
- Oversee installation projects related to catering facilities or equipment upgrades, collaborating with construction teams when necessary.
- Lead maintenance teams or contractors during complex repairs or installations, providing clear instructions and technical guidance.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, schematics, and service logs for compliance and future reference.
- Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and regulations by adhering to health and safety protocols consistently.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or engineering within a catering or food service environment.
- Experience of the CAFM System & Ostara App preferred however training will be provided.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical systems used in commercial catering equipment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise maintenance teams or coordinate with contractors effectively.
- Hands-on experience with equipment repair, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults efficiently.
- Familiarity with air conditioning systems, HVAC maintenance, and general building maintenance procedures.
- Construction experience is a plus, especially related to facility upgrades or installations involving catering infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
