Yard Operator
Location: Barking, Essex
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operator to join our team at Blumsom Timber & Milling.
The role involves working in our timber yard, preparing and picking timber for customer orders and ensuring orders are ready for production and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking timber accurately for customer orders
- Identifying different timber species and grades
- Measuring timber accurately using a tape measure
- Checking timber sizes, lengths and quantities
- Moving and organising timber around the yard
- Keeping the yard clean, tidy and organised
- Working safely and following company procedures
- Supporting the wider yard and production team when required
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Physically fit and able to work in a busy timber yard
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to use a tape measure confidently, or willing to learn
- Interested in learning about different timber species
- Able to work accurately and pay attention to detail
- A good team player with a positive attitude
- Previous experience in a timber yard, warehouse or similar environment would be an advantage, but full training can be provided for the right person
