We are seeking an ambitious, driven and passionate Wedding and Events Sales Manager to become the driving force behind one of the region’s most sought after wedding and events destinations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to lead the sales and planning of exceptional weddings, celebrations and events, building lasting client relationships while driving revenue across the estate. The successful candidate will possess outstanding communication and organisational skills, a proven background in wedding and event sales, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will thrive in a fast paced environment, confidently managing multiple priorities while ensuring every wedding and event is meticulously planned and flawlessly executed. Working closely with our operational teams, you will play a key role in delivering memorable guest experiences while contributing to the continued commercial success of our award-winning hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all incoming wedding and event enquiries, preparing bespoke quotations tailored to each client’s individual requirements.
- Proactively follow up all enquiries to maximise conversion rates and achieve sales targets.
- Oversee the complete sales journey from initial enquiry through to the successful delivery of every event.
- Monitor and report on sales funnels, enquiry conversions and marketing performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities to improve business performance.
- Conduct engaging venue tours and site visits, showcasing Down Hall as a premier wedding and events destination.
- Generate new business through proactive sales activity, networking, social media and online platforms.
- Coordinate every aspect of weddings and events, producing accurate and detailed function sheets for operational teams.
- Ensure all event invoices are completed accurately and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Undertake competitor analysis and remain up to date with industry trends to identify new commercial opportunities.
- Attend weekly sales meetings, reporting on performance and contributing to business development initiatives.
- Coordinate events seamlessly from the point of sale through to the initial guest meeting and successful event delivery.
- Maximise revenue through effective upselling of hotel facilities, products and services.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, banqueting and event operations.
- Work collaboratively with all operational departments to deliver exceptional customer experiences throughout every event.
- Keep up to date with wedding, hospitality and social event trends to ensure our offering remains market leading.
- Support the Senior Management Team in delivering monthly, quarterly and annual sales and marketing plans in line with the hotel’s commercial objectives.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a passionate, commercially minded hospitality professional with a proven track record in wedding and event sales. You will be confident in building relationships, exceeding sales targets and creating exceptional guest experiences, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and attention to detail.
You will have:
- Previous experience in Wedding & Event Management within a quality hospitality environment.
- Proven Wedding Sales experience with a successful track record of converting enquiries into confirmed bookings and maximising revenue.
- The flexibility to work weekends in line with business requirements.
- A professional and confident telephone manner with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- A sound understanding of menu planning, food presentation, banqueting and event operations.
- A proactive, commercially focused approach with the confidence to identify opportunities, generate new business and exceed sales targets.
- The ability to build lasting relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues, delivering exceptional service at every stage of the customer journey.
- A friendly, enthusiastic and professional work ethic, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across departments.
