We are looking for an experienced, caring and reliable Senior Care Assistant to join our growing domiciliary care team. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and who is ready to take on additional responsibility within the team.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will support individuals to remain safe, independent and comfortable in their own homes, while also providing guidance and support to other members of the care team.
Your Role Will Include:
- Providing high-quality personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting
- Supporting with medication administration and prompting in line with care plans and company procedures
- Preparing meals and supporting individuals with nutrition and hydration
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Supporting individuals to maintain their independence and wellbeing
- Completing accurate and detailed care records and daily notes
- Recognising and reporting changes in an individual's health, wellbeing or circumstances
- Supporting and mentoring other Care Assistants
- Acting as a positive role model and promoting good practice within the team
- Helping to ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed correctly
- Supporting the management team with the smooth running of care services
- Communicating effectively with clients, families, colleagues and other professionals
- Escalating any concerns appropriately and following safeguarding procedures
- Supporting with quality checks, spot checks and monitoring when required
- Carrying out other senior duties in line with your role and level of responsibility
What You’ll Need:
- Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care – essential
- Previous experience working in domiciliary or social care
- Experience of supporting or mentoring other care staff
- A full UK driving licence
- Access to your own car – essential for travelling between clients
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality care
- A kind, patient, professional and reliable approach
- Good communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and person-centred care
- The confidence to recognise concerns and escalate them appropriately
