Job Overview
Do you have experience and a heart for working with people suffering from memory loss or dementia? At Immanuel Church Memory Lane we run a programme of activities to stimulate the mind, specially designed for those with memory loss, in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. We are looking for an experienced, proactive and empathetic person for this role. Due to the nature of the role, there is the Genuine Occupational Requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian.
Duties
- Run 3 sessions a week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day to be agreed upon
- Develop and deliver engaging content that promotes cognitive stimulation, social interaction and emotional well-being
- Facilitate the summer 'Holiday at Home' and extra Christmas events
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Work together closely with the volunteers and foster a positive team environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dementia care
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with attendees, carers and volunteer team members
- Compassionate approach
- Ability to handle challenging situations with patience, professionalism, and empathy
