Overview
NN is an 18-year-old man with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He has difficulties with emotional regulation and can become dysregulated. NN enjoys drawing and he is fashion conscious. He struggles with new people, choosing not to speak until he feels comfortable. NN is vulnerable to exploitation in the community and online.
NN is looking for a Personal Assistant to provide support during college holidays. They will help him to access the community/activities safely and to develop his independence. The PA will support NN to reduce his dysregulation and the risk of exploitation in the community. The PA will need to be able to drive and have their own car, as NN cannot use public transport. They may need to work alongside NN’s current mentor initially to establish the relationship.
Previous experience in a similar role or with managing challenging behaviour is desirable. A calm and patient attitude is essential.
Part time (up to 10 hours per week during college holidays); £15.70 per hour
