Role Overview
We are looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep our flexographic printing and converting machinery running efficiently. This role would suit someone with maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, a strong mechanical aptitude, or someone who is confident carrying out repairs and general maintenance, even if they do not hold formal engineering qualifications.
The successful candidate will work alongside our engineering team to carry out routine maintenance, respond to equipment issues, and support continuous improvements across the factory.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery.
- Assist with servicing and repairing flexographic printing presses, converting equipment, and other factory machinery.
- Respond to machine breakdowns and help return equipment to production as quickly as possible.
- Carry out basic mechanical repairs, adjustments, and replacements of worn parts.
- Identify faults and report more complex issues to the Engineering team where required.
- Help install, move, and modify machinery and factory equipment.
- Ensure machinery and work areas are kept clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Support continuous improvement projects to improve machine reliability and efficiency.
- Assist with maintaining spare parts and workshop organisation.
- Always Work safely and follow company Health & Safety procedures.
- Provide support to production teams where maintenance knowledge is required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, production, or mechanical environment.
- Practical hands-on skills with tools and equipment.
- Good mechanical understanding and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Desirable
- Experience working with flexographic printing, packaging, converting, or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Basic electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic knowledge.
- Welding or fabrication experience.
- Forklift, MEWP, or similar licences.
- Engineering or maintenance qualification (beneficial but not essential).

Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to production machinery, inks, solvents, and noise.
- Some overtime and occasional weekend working may be required to support production and planned maintenance.
Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per year
