Virtual Flow Company is delighted to be recruiting exclusively on behalf of a lovely nursery in Bicester to find a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in preparing fresh and nutritious food, and would love to work in a role where they can make a genuine difference to children's daily lives.
No previous nursery experience is required, as full training and support will be provided. What matters most is that you are caring, reliable, organised and passionate about providing healthy, enjoyable meals for young children.

The Role
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, healthy, and nutritious meals and snacks for the children throughout the day.
You will play an important role in ensuring children receive delicious, balanced meals in a safe, clean, and well-organised environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking fresh, healthy and nutritious meals from scratch.
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks throughout the day.
- Taking account of children's dietary requirements and individual needs.
- Ordering food supplies and keeping on top of stock levels.
- Completing stock rotation and checking use-by dates.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
- Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised.
- Ensuring food preparation areas and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
- Serving meals to the children and helping to make mealtimes enjoyable.
- Working alongside the nursery team to ensure children's nutritional and dietary needs are met.
- Following appropriate food hygiene, health & safety and nursery procedures at all times.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A genuine enjoyment of cooking and preparing food.
- A caring and positive attitude towards working around young children.
- A reliable, organised and responsible approach to your work.
- Pride in preparing fresh, healthy and nutritious meals.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when it comes to food hygiene and dietary requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to learn and follow nursery procedures.
- The legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
No previous nursery experience is required, and full training will be provided. This role would suit someone with cooking experience who is looking for a rewarding position where they can use their skills to make a real difference to children's everyday lives.
