Company Overview
Mallows Bottling & Beverages is one of the UK's fastest-growing contract bottling businesses. Operating from our 30,000 sq.ft. production facility in South Wales, we bottle premium spirits and soft drinks for major retailers and leading brands, alongside producing our own award-winning products.
As a BRCGS AA accredited manufacturer, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do. With continued growth comes exciting investment, including the implementation of a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) and the ongoing development of our warehouse operation.
We're looking for an ambitious Warehouse Manager to lead this journey.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the overall management of our warehouse operation, including both our on-site warehouse and third-party logistics (3PL) storage providers.
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you'll be responsible for building a highly organised, efficient and scalable warehouse operation that supports our ambitious growth plans.
You'll lead the warehouse team, implement best practice, drive continuous improvement and play a key role in introducing our new Warehouse Management System.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all warehouse operations across our on-site warehouse and external 3PL facilities.
- Manage, coach and develop Warehouse Supervisors and warehouse operatives.
- Implement and embed a new Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring successful adoption across the business.
- Develop warehouse processes, SOPs and standard ways of working.
- Establish and monitor warehouse KPIs including inventory accuracy, picking accuracy, OTIF performance, stock losses, productivity and warehouse utilisation.
- Ensure accurate stock control through cycle counting, investigations and robust inventory management.
- Optimise warehouse layout, storage capacity and material flow to support production efficiency.
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Purchasing and Customer Service to ensure materials and finished goods are available when required.
- Build strong working relationships with external warehousing and logistics partners, monitoring service levels and performance.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean and 5S principles.
- Ensure compliance with BRCGS Food Safety, Health & Safety, HMRC and company procedures.
- Manage warehouse budgets, equipment and resource planning.
- Produce meaningful warehouse performance reports for senior management.
- Support future expansion projects as the business continues to grow.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys building systems, improving processes and developing people.
You'll have:
- Previous experience managing a warehouse within manufacturing, FMCG, food or beverage production.
- Experience leading warehouse teams and developing high-performing people.
- A strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), with implementation experience being highly desirable.
- Experience managing inventory accuracy, stock control and warehouse KPIs.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or 5S.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or similar.
- A Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck licence.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- 37.5-hour working week.
- Opportunity to shape and lead a growing warehouse operation.
- Involvement in major business improvement projects, including WMS implementation.
- Career development within one of the UK's fastest-growing contract bottlers.
- Supportive, family-owned culture where your ideas genuinely make a difference.
If you're an experienced warehouse manager looking to build something rather than simply maintain it, we'd love to hear from you.
