Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Breakdown / Recovery Driver to join our team. This role involves responding to vehicle breakdowns, providing recovery services, and ensuring safe transportation of vehicles and goods. Duties
- Respond promptly to breakdown calls and provide roadside assistance using specialised recovery equipment.
- Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, for vehicle recovery and transportation.
- Secure vehicles and cargo safely during transit, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct basic mechanical inspections and troubleshoot common issues during recovery operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all recoveries, including reports on vehicle condition and incident details.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients regarding job status and estimated arrival times.
- Perform routine vehicle checks before and after shifts to ensure operational safety and compliance.
- On call rota.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or recovery driver within a commercial environment.
- Strong driving skills with valid <PERSON> driver Category C licence or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and basic repair techniques is desirable.
- Experience operating flatbed lorries or similar specialised vehicles preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently while maintaining high safety standards in all operations.
