CNC Operator
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented CNC Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team at Squires Precision Engineering. You'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high precision components. Your mechanical knowledge, hands on skills, and attention to detail will ensure production runs smoothly and to the highest quality standards.
Shift Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00
- Friday: 08:00 - 13:00
- Flexible availability required for occasional Saturday work and extended Friday hours as needed
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and programming parameters based on technical drawings and specifications
- Operate CNC equipment to produce parts with precision, adhering to quality standards and production schedules
- Perform routine inspections using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement devices to ensure accuracy
- Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and troubleshoot minor issues to minimize downtime
- Maintain detailed documentation of machine setups, production runs, and quality checks
- Support tooling changes and setup adjustments for different projects and materials
- Follow safety protocols diligently when handling tools, machinery, and equipment
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience operating and setting up CNC machines in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and tooling safely and effectively
- Good problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility and willingness to support production needs
