Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Family Solicitor to join our legal team. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice and representation in family law matters, ensuring clients receive compassionate and effective support through often sensitive situations. Duties
- Advise clients on various family law issues including divorce, and financial settlements.
- Draft and review legal documents such as affidavits, agreements, and court pleadings.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations to achieve favourable outcomes.
- Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws and precedents affecting family law cases.
- Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring all deadlines are met whilst maintaining high standards of client care.
- Liaise with clients, courts, and other legal professionals to facilitate smooth case progression.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation in accordance with firm policies and legal requirements.
- Assist in the development of firm policies related to family law practice areas.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously whilst adhering to deadlines.
- Proficiency in IT systems relevant to legal practice including case management software and document drafting tools.
- Empathy and discretion when dealing with sensitive family matters, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a busy legal environment.
- A good understanding of current family law legislation and procedures is essential.
