Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to lead our culinary team at this SEN school. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing food production, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The Chef Manager will play a pivotal role in creating a positive working environment while maintaining excellent service standards within our hospitality setting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, ensuring efficient food production and service delivery.
- Lead, motivate, and manage the culinary team to achieve high standards of performance and teamwork.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating innovative dishes while adhering to dietary requirements and budget constraints.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and health & safety policies at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste and optimise resources.
- Train staff on proper food handling techniques, safety procedures, and service protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment conducive to productivity and safety.
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in recruitment processes for new team members as required.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in hospitality or restaurant settings.
- Extensive background in food production, preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example and foster a collaborative work environment.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality management is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Good communication skills to liaise with staff and management efficiently.
- Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential if complemented by substantial practical experience.
Pay: £14.93 per hour
