We are seeking a highly motivated, adaptable, and organised individual to join our customer support team in the pivotal role of LMP2 Track Support Assistant Manager.
This dynamic, multi-faceted role acts as the primary support to the Track Support Manager, assisting in the daily coordination, task management, and administrative flow within the Customer Relations department. Simultaneously, the successful candidate will form a core part of our trackside customer support team, deploying to global race and test events and assisting both the Track Support Manager with the general onsite event management as well as the wider engineering team and technical leads in the provision of technical assistance including the analysis of logged engine data and second level mechanical assistance.
Gibson Technology is globally recognised for engineering excellence in designing, developing and manufacturing high-performance engines and powertrain systems for world-leading race series. Renowned for our LMP2 powertrains, we’ve been delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions that push the limits of performance for over 40 years. Our achievements can be attributed to our highly skilled and committed workforce consistently delivering excellence and innovation at the highest level of motorsport.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Departmental & Operational Coordination (HQ)
- Assist the Track Support Manager with daily task coordination, department workflow, and project tracking. Develop a strong operational understanding to step in and temporarily assume responsibilities in the Manager’s absence.
- Act as a key communication link across internal departments including Engine Build, Dyno/Calibration, Electrical, Stores, Commercial, and Admin ensuring collaborative execution of customer deliverables.
- Assist in coordinating event preparations, engine rotation schedules, trackside spare parts inventory, and necessary shipping documentation.
- Aid in day-to-day communications with race teams, championship organisers (FIA, ACO, IMSA), and legacy engine customers.
Trackside Engineering & Customer Support (Off-Site)
- Act as a core member of the Track / Customer Support Team at global race and test events, providing direct, customer-facing technical support to our LMP2 race team clients.
- Utilise specialised data analysis software to analyse logged engine data, evaluating the engine's operating condition and providing critical feedback to our race team customers and Gibson’s internal track support engineering team.
- Working in conjunction with the senior engineering team to deliver second-level mechanical assistance and apply secondary calibration knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve engine issues trackside under tight time constraints.
- Participate fully in trackside support operations across global events, from single-car development tests to major 24-hour endurance races.
- Confidently liaise with key senior stakeholders (Race Team Owners, Managers, Event Organisers, and Governing Bodies) on all aspects of the Gibson engine supply agreement, providing professional representation and event-specific support where needed.
What we are looking for
Recognising that this unique combination of administrative coordination and hands-on trackside engineering capability is rare, Gibson Technology is prepared to provide a structured training and development programme to bridge skill gaps for the right candidate. However, ideally you will have some of the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience within a high-performance motorsport environment (workshop, dyno, or trackside).
- Strong practical mechanical competence with race engine assemblies.
- Experience with, or a strong aptitude for learning, motorsport data acquisition software and engine calibration principles.
- Competency in inventory management, basic logistics procedures, or customs documentation.
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel) with efficient task-tracking abilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to navigate cross-departmental relationships and interact effectively with high-level external stakeholders and race teams.
