An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering a major project in Port Talbot.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an experienced delivery team working on complex civil engineering and infrastructure works. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
The role would suit an experienced Site / Setting Out Engineer looking to further their career on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying works in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme requirements.
- Managing and maintaining quality assurance documentation, including ITPs and inspection records.
- Producing and reviewing site records, as-built information and progress reports.
- Liaising with site management, subcontractors and design teams to resolve technical queries.
- Monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring works comply with project specifications.
- Assisting with planning and coordinating site activities to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Supporting the commercial team with measurements and records where required.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Assisting with temporary works coordination and permit systems where applicable.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and promoting best practice across site.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Site or Setting Out Engineer within civil engineering, groundworks or reinforced concrete frame.
- Competent in the use of surveying equipment including Leica, Trimble or Topcon.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and site documentation.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- HNC, HND or Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience working under NEC forms of contract.
- Experience on large-scale industrial, infrastructure or heavy civils projects.
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
- CSCS Card.
- Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor training.
