Don Whitley Scientific Ltd develops, manufactures, and supplies specialist microbiology and cell culture equipment worldwide. All products are designed and manufactured in-house in England and supplied to customers across healthcare, pharmaceutical, food testing, research, and scientific sectors.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Administrator to join our finance team. This role is responsible for sales ledger management, credit control, invoicing, bank reconciliations, export administration, and supporting the efficient operation of the finance function. We are also happy to support future professional studies and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise and process customer invoices and credit notes.
- Maintain the sales ledger and issue monthly customer statements.
- Process customer payments, bank receipts, and reconciliations.
- Manage credit control activities and chase overdue accounts.
- Prepare export and customs documentation for international shipments.
- Administer company expenses and credit card reconciliations using ExpenseIn.
- Respond to customer account and invoicing queries.
- Support month-end reporting, reconciliations, and sales analysis.
- Maintain accurate financial records and customer account information.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or Finance Administration.
- Experience using accounting software (Sage preferred).
- Strong understanding of sales ledger processes and bank reconciliations.
- Good Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn.
Desirable
- Experience with export documentation and customs procedures.
- Experience using ExpenseIn or similar expense management software.
- Knowledge of credit control and debt collection processes.
- Understanding of service contract administration.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8:45am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm (1-hour lunch)

Financial Controller
