Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mot Tester/Mechanic to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, and performing repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and operate efficiently. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.
- Diagnose mechanical faults using specialised tools and equipment, identifying issues accurately and efficiently.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks, including brake replacements, tyre fitting, exhaust repairs, and other mechanical or electrical work.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to carry out inspections and repairs.
- Assist in the servicing of vehicles, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid top-ups.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and services performed on each vehicle.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and health & safety regulations.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety standards.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle diagnostics and repair work.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and socket sets.
- Experience with power tools relevant to automotive repair tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling tyres, batteries, or other heavy components.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate inspections and repairs.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.

Pay: £25,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
