Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Worker to provide high-quality, personalized care to individuals in their own homes. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration according to care plans and protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Help clients with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment
- Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or errands safely and punctually
- Manage behavior effectively, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's care, using patience and understanding
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including first aid when necessary
- Document care activities accurately in client records and communicate updates to the care team
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care practices
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for driving duties
- Strong caregiving skills with an emphasis on compassion and patience
- Ability to perform light physical tasks such as heavy lifting when required for client support or household chores
- Basic first aid certification is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays
