About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Medical Records Analyst to join our growing team on a self-employed basis. This is a fully remote role suited to someone with a strong background in medico-legal work who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analysing medical records for medico-legal cases, ensuring documentation is accurately organised and presented to a high professional standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, organise and paginate medical records using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive medical record bundles and indexes.
- Produce detailed medical chronologies.
- Write clear, concise and well-structured clinical reviews and case summaries.
- Identify missing or duplicate records and highlight inconsistencies.
- Review large volumes of medical documentation efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure all work complies with client requirements, agreed deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with UK GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Communicate professionally with the team regarding case progress and any issues identified.
Essential Skills & Personal Attributes
- Previous experience carrying out this role is essential, including sorting, organising, indexing and paginating medical records, and preparing detailed medical chronologies, clinical reviews and case summaries.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify inconsistencies, missing records, duplicate documentation and chronological gaps.
- Highly organised and methodical, with the ability to manage large volumes of medical records accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to review and interpret complex medical documentation objectively.
- Strong written English and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and professional reports.
- Quality-focused, with a commitment to proofreading and checking all work to ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness before submission.
- Ability to prioritise workload, manage multiple cases simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, reliable and capable of working independently in a fully remote environment.
- Professional, discreet and trustworthy, with a thorough understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Reliable broadband connection and an appropriate home office setup suitable for remote working.
- Proactive in identifying issues within records, raising queries where necessary and maintaining high professional standards at all times.
