Packaging / Yard Operative

Summary
This role as a Fork Lift Driver in our Cold Store located in Wigan and is vital for maintaining efficient warehouse operations. You will support our mission to supply premium poultry products by ensuring safe and effective handling of goods.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am –3pm (flexibility required for earlier starts depending on delivery schedules).
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a forklift truck safely and efficiently.
- Receiving and checking incoming deliveries of packaging materials.
- Booking deliveries onto the company system and maintaining accurate records.
- Stocking and organising the storeroom.
- Picking and supplying packaging materials for the operations team.
- Carrying out stock takes and monitoring inventory levels.
- Emptying waste containers and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard environment.
- Supporting general warehouse and yard operations as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Forklift truck experience (licence preferred if required).
- Good organisational and stock control skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for booking deliveries and stock management.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing operational needs.
