Job Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Baker to join our team in creating delicious baked goods. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking & experience in a culinary environment. Unfortunately this isn’t a role for someone looking for a new career as we are not currently in a position to train people on the job - we would however consider a chef who has had pastry experience
Responsibilities:
- Prepare & bake a variety of bread, cakes, pastries & other baked goods
- Oversee the production process to ensure quality & consistency
- Develop new recipes & innovative baking techniques
- Maintain a clean & organised kitchen workspace
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards & regulations
- Guide & mentor junior bakers
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Baker or similar role in a restaurant or food production setting
- In depth knowledge of baking techniques & methods
- Strong understanding of food safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
Skills and Personal attributes required:
- An interest in good & drink, bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants, local small businesses
- Strong Communication Skills – You will be part of a small, close knit team of bakers & will need to be able to communicate over the shaping table as well as effectively communicate our FOH team members
- Passion to Work - We have condensed the hours into 4 working days so you will have 3 days off a week. The days you do work we need energy & drive throughout the day
- Consistent Attention to Detail – This spreads further than just making nice things; from counting & packing orders in the morning, through to receiving & fulfilling occasional special orders or requests, to completing a thorough closedown while observing daily compliance checks
- Responsible & Reliable
The positions is full time - 32-36 hours a week
Availability required across the week & weekends (however weekend day shifts will be rotated)
Rotas are published in good time
28 days annual leave
Enrolement into the Government Pension Scheme
Must be able to get to Manston
