Main Duties:
- Preparing meals for the children (morning and afternoon snack, lunch, puddings and preparing tea).
- Ensuring that the kitchen is reaching above and beyond hygiene standards.
- Keeping a stock take of food items and preparing a weekly shopping list to be given to management.
- Washing up after meals and cleaning the kitchen.
- Collecting trays from the rooms.
- Informing management of any broken or damaged equipment.
- Record keeping of the food temperatures and cleaning.
- Supporting the rooms with serving meals.
- Ensuring that your training is up to date.
- You must hold a minimum Level 2 in Food and Hygiene.
- To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, etc.
- To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
- To work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the setting’s philosophy is fulfilled.
- To support nursery assistants, students and volunteers.
- To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
- A calm but upbeat personality.
