Teaching across KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE, Sixth Form

Farlington has an outstanding LAMDA provision with over 150 of our students regularly taking LAMDA exams each year. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the school to appoint its own practitioner to teach LAMDA lessons, and to also support school productions and extra-curricular drama. The post involves teaching LAMDA lessons to KS1, 2, 3 and 4 pupils, with a small number of Sixth Form also pursuing qualifications. The role will report directly to the Head of Drama.
Responsibilities:
- Teach LAMDA lessons to students of various ages in accordance with the LAMDA specifications.
- Work with the other LAMDA teachers and the Head of Drama as required to organise and manage exams at the centre, including the necessary paperwork surrounding this.
- Be responsible for student communication and wider communications with the Head of Drama, other LAMDA staff and other school staff.
- Steward students on exam days.
- Manage efficiently and take responsibility for resources.
- Source and resource interesting and appropriate learning materials such as play texts, excerpts and prose.
- Thoroughly prepare students for LAMDA examinations and showcases.
- Monitor pupils' progress.
- Promote sound standards of punctuality and discipline.
- Work with staff in the Drama department and other school staff to organise the drama showcase evening, showcasing the students' practical examination work, and to support with school productions.
Farlington is a co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 6 months to 18, and is set in 33 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside. The school enjoys a strong reputation for its academic excellence and welcoming community. Farlington students are happy, fulfilled young people, fully engaged in the life of the school community, aspirational and committed to their studies. With class sizes of no more than 20 you can have an impact on each student in every lesson, and a commitment to our thriving co-curricular programme outside the classroom is essential.
This is a hugely exciting time of development and growth for the school. As part of the Bellevue Education group of schools, there are excellent opportunities for ongoing professional development, and further opportunity for collaboration between schools within the group.
The closing date for applications is 1 September 2026, however, we reserve the right to interview prior to this date so an early application is advised.
