Part-Time Cook – Winash Rest Home, Clevedon
Hours: 31 hours per week (7:00am–3:00pm shifts)
Location: Clevedon
Winash Rest Home is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Part-Time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for approximately 32 residents and staff in our friendly care home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and supper.
- Cater for special dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, HACCP compliance, and health & safety.
- Record food and fridge temperatures.
- Order and monitor food supplies and stock levels.
- Keep the kitchen clean and follow cleaning schedules.
- Assist with menu planning and resident meal choices.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and used safely.
Essential Requirements
- City & Guilds qualification in Catering (or equivalent).
- Minimum two years' catering experience.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Willingness to obtain a Food Hygiene Certificate if not already held.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 in Catering.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Experience in a care home setting.
- Experience using a combi oven (training provided).
This role requires a caring, organised individual who can provide enjoyable, nutritious meals while maintaining excellent food safety standards. A six-week notice period applies.
