We are seeking an experienced Logistics Director to lead distribution strategy, mail operations, delivery performance, workforce planning, and operational improvement across the organisation.
You will oversee the movement of mail, parcels, documents, and fulfilment items from receipt through final dispatch. You will also manage operational budgets, service partners, performance standards, and business continuity arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement logistics and distribution strategies
- Oversee mail processing, parcel handling, fulfilment, dispatch, and delivery operations
- Lead operations managers, supervisors, logistics teams, and administrative personnel
- Establish productivity, accuracy, delivery, and service-quality targets
- Manage operational budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and resource requirements
- Monitor delivery schedules, transport capacity, and distribution performance
- Coordinate relationships with couriers, carriers, suppliers, and service partners
- Negotiate delivery contracts, service terms, and supplier agreements
- Review logistics costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- Ensure customer items are processed accurately, securely, and on schedule
- Monitor key performance indicators and prepare leadership reports
- Resolve significant delivery, fulfilment, and service issues
- Oversee seasonal planning and peak-volume operations
- Support client onboarding and new service implementation
- Improve routing, tracking, reporting, and workflow systems
- Maintain business continuity and operational contingency plans
- Ensure compliance with data protection, workplace safety, and company procedures
- Recruit, coach, and develop logistics and operational employees
- Support service expansion and technology implementation projects
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- Seven or more years of experience in logistics, mail services, parcel distribution, fulfilment, courier operations, or supply chain management
- Proven experience leading operational teams and managers
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts, staffing, and service-performance targets
- Strong background in carrier, courier, supplier, or contractor management
- Experience improving logistics workflows, productivity, and delivery performance
- Previous responsibility for client services, risk management, or business continuity

- Substantial relevant industry and leadership experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications
Pay: £72,000.00-£89,000.00 per year
