Audit & Accounts Manager | Peterborough | Full-time
Ready to own your portfolio?
Whether you're an Assistant Manager who's been delivering at a high level and knows it's time to take the next step, or an experienced Manager who's simply looking for a firm that actually values what you bring, this could be exactly what you've been waiting for.
Our client is a leading professional services firm covering audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory, and they're growing their Peterborough team. They work with a genuinely varied client base, from owner-managed businesses, sole traders, and charities right through to large corporates.
The role
As Audit & Accounts Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of clients, managing audits through to Partner sign-off, preparing and reviewing financial statements across all entity types, and ensuring tax returns and filings land on time. You'll lead and organise your team's workflow, review the work of junior staff, and play an active role in their development.
Client relationships sit at the heart of this position - you'll be the trusted face they turn to, attending meetings and translating complex financial information into clear, actionable advice.
This is a proper manager role. You'll have real autonomy, a varied and stimulating workload and a Partner who supports rather than micromanages.
Who we're looking for
You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified with a solid general practice background. You're the kind of person who holds themselves to a high standard and brings that same energy to the people around them. You're organised under pressure, sharp on detail, and you know how to build trust with clients - not just professionally, but personally. You look for smarter ways of doing things and you're not afraid to challenge the status quo when it means delivering better outcomes.
If you're currently at Assistant Manager level and ready to step up, you'll find the support you need to take a step-up. If you're already operating at Manager level but looking for a firm where the culture, the work, and the progression opportunities genuinely match your ambitions — we want to hear from you.
What we offer
A strong market-competitive salary (depending on experience) and benefits package, a clear and supported path for career progression, and the opportunity to work with a diverse and interesting client base. Most importantly, you'll be joining a senior, partner-led team that collaborates, supports each other and takes real pride in the service it delivers.
If this sounds like the move you've been looking for, apply today - we'd love to talk.
