We are currently seeking a dedicated and personable Veterinary Care Assistant to join our expanding team.
Job Description:
As a Veterinary Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinary team and ensuring the well-being of our patients. Your responsibilities will include animal care, assisting with clinical duties, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinary surgeons and nurses with routine procedures and treatments
- Provide compassionate care to animals and clients
- Prepare and maintain the cleanliness of consultation rooms and treatment areas
- Assist in restraining animals during examinations and treatments
- Help with the preparation of surgical equipment and materials
- Assist with the handling and care of inpatients, including the administration of medications under supervision
- Maintain accurate patient records in our management system
- Reception duties including:
- Greeting clients and their pets, scheduling appointments, and managing the appointment calendar
- Answering phone calls, responding to enquiries, and processing payments
- Ensure the practice is clean, organised, and welcoming
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care environment preferred but not essential
- Minimum GCSE grade C/4 in English and Maths
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using computer systems and Microsoft Office is required; familiarity with ProVetCloud and Digital Practice would be a plus but is not essential
- A compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and their owners
