Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of customer service. The job holder will be loading and unloading so there will be some lifting involved in the job.
The Driver will be expected to perform any of the following tasks:
- Ensure that the daily checking and reporting procedures regarding vehicle maintenance are completed.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Ensure customer service is delivered to a consistently high standard and be courteous to all road users.
- Adhere to the DVSA and E.U Drivers Hours Legislation and Regulations and to ensure the accurate completion of Tachograph procedures (where applicable).
- Ensure that goods transported arrive in good merchantable condition.
- Ensure customer service is delivered to a consistently high standard.
- Assist with warehouse duties as required
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver or similar role
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding logistics operations
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating organisation and time management skills
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo handling
