Job Purpose:
Optimas International is currently searching for a Quality Supervisor/Manager UK, to be based at our Gloucester site. This position reports to the UK Quality Director.
You will actively champion best practices for the Quality function supporting Optimas strategic plan and business goals and objectives. This includes driving action to ensure Optimas compliance to regulatory requirements including Optimas suite of management systems certification and customer specific requirements providing direct management and mentoring of a high performing quality team.
Key Result Areas:
Supervisor/manage all activities connected to our internal quality assurance activities. Including inspection, control on NC product, calibration, APQP and adherence to CSR.- Support third party certification audits from customer or regulatory bodies.
- Support development of the Optimas quality manual and supporting documentation to ensure product, systems and process compliance and improvement.
- Working with our Global Centre of Excellence team in managing and updating part and vendor approval in our NetSuite MRP.
- Provide supervision and to act as on-site lead for the quality team based at our Gloucester HQ facility.
- Collect, compile, and communicate business specific quality related indicators driving documented improvement plans/actions to positively impact these quality indicators.
- Effectively manage and provide mentorship to direct reports and other team members located in our Gloucester HQ facility. To ensure all duties are performed in line with business expectations whilst supporting Optimas customer requirements including Optimas goals and objectives.
- Conduct and/or coordinate product, systems and process audits in line with company processes to maintain company accreditation.
- Oversee the efficient implementation of quality standards, programs and processes to improve operational efficiencies and reduce/eliminate systemic waste and quarantined product.
- Actively drive and promote Optimas Thread values.
- Support business improvement initiatives as required by Optimas senior management team.
- Completion of any other activities not within this job description as deemed appropriate by the Optimas UK Quality Director
- Maintain housekeeping and Health and Safety requirements.
- Ensure specified deadlines for assigned tasks are met.
Additional Key Duties:

Active personal engagement in supporting the achievement of Optimas business goals and objectives.
- Must have full driving license and the ability to undertake some travel.

Function as a change agent promoting product, systems and process improvements.
- Fully comply with Optimas health and Safety requirements ensuring near misses’ accidents and investigations are managed in line with Optimas and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all communication verbal or written is delivered in a professional manner ensuring that you protect Optimas good name.

Active participation as a member of the Optimas Quality leadership team supporting where required Global initiatives and alignment as deemed appropriate.
- Understand and promote Optimas THREAD principles
Knowledge, Training, Experience & Skills required:
-
Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing or components distribution setting.
- Previous experience as Quality Manager/Supervisor role in relevant fast paced regulated manufacturing industry.

Certified Lead Auditor Qualification (e.g., ISO9001/VDA/IATF16949 Management Systems)

Level 5 Quality, metallurgical or engineering qualification.
- Familiarity of ERP systems, such as Oracle/NetSuite/SAP.

Working knowledge of Quality core tools (8d Problem Solving, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, CAPA,MSA,5 WHYS)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter
- Process and Industry knowledge [preferably automotive or similar]

Proficiency in business software: EG Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
