Trainee Automotive Paint Sprayer
We are looking for a Trainee Automotive prepper/paint sprayer to work in our family run Automotive Business repairing bodywork on customers' cars. Full on the job training will be provided initially in our bodyshop. Once training has been completed you will spend some of your time in our workshop and some of your time as a Mobile Paint Repairer carrying out repairs at customers home/work addresses. The successful candidate will be required to carry out all types of vehicle body refinishing work, using appropriate methods on all makes of vehicles. The individual must be a good team player and be capable of managing their own workload as well as helping out other members of the team.
Candidates must:
- have a full clean driving licence
- work to an extremely high standard and attention to detail is key
- be able to manage your own workload and take direction
- have a ‘can do’ attitude and be highly motivated
- be an excellent communicator
- have a keen interest in working with cars
- any qualification in motor vehicle accident repair damage would be a distinct advantage but not essential
- if you have worked as a prepper in a bodyshop that would also be advantageous but not essential
- enjoy working outside
Key responsibilities:
- prepare, spray and finish vehicles to an extremely high standard with excellent quality control
- get jobs right first time, including colour match correctness
- work to a daily work schedule keeping to timings
- work within a workshop team liaising with colleagues to ensure jobs are finished on time as well as on your own carrying out mobile repairs at customer's homes
- be professional at all times with customers and colleagues
- work closely with the business owners to ensure work progresses efficiently through the workshop and mobile
- ensure equipment is used within defined safety guidelines
The hours will be Mon to Fri 8am-5pm plus alternate Saturday mornings.
Salary: £28,000-£29,000/year depending on qualifications/experience, plus Saturdays will be paid on an overtime basis.
