Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. The ideal applicant will have experience in commercial driving, multi drop and excellent attention to detail.
Duties
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to specified destinations
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Verify delivery orders and obtain necessary signatures upon receipt of goods
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any issues promptly
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies during deliveries
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients upon delivery
- Assist with organising schedules to meet delivery deadlines
Requirements
- Valid full UK driving licence.
- Strong knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations within the area
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading goods safely
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Prior experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is highly desirable
