Job Title: Business Development Executive (Volunteer, Remote) - OhMyFood UK
About OhMyFood: OhMyFood is building the UK’s first home-cooked food marketplace platform for daily lunch and dinner. We connect customers with freshly prepared meals made by talented local home chefs. Our mission is to make fresh, wholesome, home-cooked meals more accessible. We are currently preparing for our Phase 1 launch in London.
Role Overview: This is a volunteer, remote role for our Phase 1 launch, with the potential to convert into a paid or full-time position as OhMyFood grows. As a Business Development Executive, you will work closely with the founder, marketing, operations, and community teams to identify growth opportunities, build partnerships, speak with potential home chefs, connect with local communities, and support OhMyFood’s launch in London.
You will help us reach the right customers, onboard talented home chefs, build relationships with local groups and organizations, and create opportunities for OhMyFood to grow area by area. This role is ideal for someone who is confident, people-friendly, target-driven, organized, and excited to help build an early-stage food-tech marketplace from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and reach out to potential home chefs, food creators, community leaders, local partners, and customer groups.
- Support chef acquisition by speaking with talented home cooks and explaining the OhMyFood opportunity clearly.
- Build relationships with local communities, student groups, professionals, and food-related networks.
- Create partnerships with local organizations, societies, and relevant businesses.
- Support customer acquisition through online and offline outreach.
- Research high-potential London areas for Phase 1 launch based on demand and chef availability.
- Manage outreach lists, lead trackers, follow-ups, and partnership conversations.
- Work with the marketing team on referral campaigns and community engagement.
- Collect feedback from chefs, customers, and communities to improve strategy.
- Represent OhMyFood professionally in conversations with potential partners.
- Support launch campaigns, area-wise growth, and early market validation.
- Share regular updates on outreach progress, leads, conversations, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, community growth, customer acquisition, marketing, operations, hospitality, or startup growth.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Comfortable reaching out to new people through LinkedIn, WhatsApp, email, calls, and local networks.
- Ability to explain OhMyFood’s value clearly to various stakeholders.
- Organized and comfortable maintaining trackers, follow-ups, and outreach pipelines.
- Confident, proactive, and able to take ownership.
- Comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Interest in food, community, startups, or marketplaces is a plus.
- Experience in food-tech, hospitality, e-commerce, or community building is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of London communities (student areas, South Asian) is a plus.
