The Rising Sun is a historic, character-filled coastal hotel and pub set in the heart of Lynmouth. Known for warm hospitality, quality food, and unforgettable seaside charm, we’re now looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our leadership team.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the General Manager in the smooth and successful running of the hotel, bar, and restaurant. You’ll be a hands-on leader who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations across all departments
- Lead, motivate, and train the front-of-house team
- Ensure high standards of customer service at all times
- Assist with rotas, stock control, ordering, and cash management
- Oversee bar and restaurant service during busy periods
- Step into full management duties in the absence of the General Manager
- Uphold health & safety, licensing, and compliance standards
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in hospitality management (hotel or pub preferred)
- Confident leading a team with a positive, hands-on approach
- Customer-focused with great communication skills
- Organised, reliable, and comfortable with responsibility
- Calm under pressure and able to problem-solve on the go
