Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Independent Living Assistant to support individuals in maintaining their independence and enhancing their quality of life. This role involves companionship calls as well as personal care calls. You will be fully trained and also undertake Dementia accreditation as well as becoming a Dementia friend and Social Care Wales Registered.
Duties
- Assist Individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence and well-being
- Support with medication prompts following care plans and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and engaging environment
- Help with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
- Manage behavior and implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care
- Conduct routine safety checks, light housekeeping, and assist with errands or transportation using personal or agency vehicles
- Document client progress, update case management records, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Adult care, home care, or caregiving roles
- Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, behavior management, and case management principles
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for driving clients to appointments or errands
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks
- Excellent communication skills combined with compassion and patience for working with vulnerable populations

Pay: £13.80 per hour
