THE TEAM
The Group Tax team is a collaborative and high-performing part of easyJet’s wider Finance function, made up of dedicated specialists across all areas of tax. You’ll be joining a team that works closely together to support the business and drive continuous improvement.
THE ROLE
As a Direct Tax Analyst, you’ll support the Group Tax Manager in managing the direct and corporate tax affairs of the worldwide easyJet Group. You’ll play a key role in delivering corporate tax compliance and reporting, as well as providing ad hoc support on tax advice and managing tax authority audits.
Prepare, review, and submit UK and overseas corporate tax computations, tax returns, and supporting documentation
Administer and monitor tax payments, instalments, and correspondence with tax authorities
Prepare, review, and submit UK R&D Expenditure Credit claims, coordinating with Finance, Engineering, and external advisers
Assist with Pillar Two / OECD Minimum Tax compliance, modelling, and data analysis
Prepare group tax reporting deliverables, including forecasting, long-range planning, and effective tax rate analysis
Prepare and review corporate tax provisions and disclosures for statutory accounts, including deferred tax calculations
Review direct tax related balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
Support finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations and enhancements impacting direct taxes
Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and automation of direct tax processes, controls, and documentation
Ensure direct tax requirements are considered in new system developments and business change initiatives
Maintain and regularly review direct tax process documentation
Support engagement with tax authorities in the UK and overseas, including managing and responding to corporate tax enquiries and audits
Assist in responding to direct tax queries from external audits of group and individual entity financial statements
Support the Group Tax Manager in providing advice on commercial, operational, and structuring projects, and day-to-day tax queries
Monitor developments in UK and international corporate tax legislation and assess potential impacts on the Group
Requirements of the Role
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Experience and knowledge of UK Corporate Tax, with some exposure to international direct taxes preferred
Strong direct tax compliance or reporting background, with a good understanding of finance systems, processes, and controls
Educated to degree level and holding (or studying towards) a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or CIMA, or qualified by experience
Solid Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office skills
Experience with Thomson Reuters Onesource Corporate Tax preferred
Focused on delivering high-quality outputs to deadlines, showing accountability and adaptability
Understands the commercial environment and appreciates the financial and longer-term implications of tax decisions
Open to new ways of working and comfortable operating in a dynamic and evolving tax environment
Communicates clearly and effectively, building strong working relationships across Finance and the wider business

PRACTICALITIES
This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
