AC South is the specialist air conditioning and refrigeration division of TSS Facilities Ltd.
We provide professional installation, servicing, maintenance and repair services across Sussex and the South East. Our customers include local authorities, schools, NHS properties, retail premises and a wide range of commercial buildings.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join our established and supportive team.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for Installing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a variety of Commercial &Domestic air conditioning systems.
The role will primarily cover Sussex and surrounding areas, with much of the work located within approximately 45 minutes of Brighton. Some travel across the wider South East may occasionally be required.
You will work independently while receiving support from our office-based coordination and management teams. All work will be scheduled and recorded through our Joblogic mobile workforce system using a company-provided PDA.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of Commercial and Domestic Air Conditioning
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on commercial air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose faults and complete reactive repairs.
- Service and maintain split, multi-split, VRF and VRV systems.
- Undertake minor installation and replacement works where required.
- Test systems and confirm they are operating safely and efficiently.
- Complete refrigerant recovery, pressure testing, evacuation and charging.
- Maintain accurate F-Gas records and service documentation.
- Complete electronic job sheets, risk assessments and reports through Joblogic.
- Identify additional remedial works and provide clear information for quotations.
- Communicate professionally with customers, site representatives and the office team.
- Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain the company vehicle, tools, equipment and stock provided.
- Participate in training and continued professional development.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised qualification in air conditioning and refrigeration.
- Current Category 1 F-Gas certification.
- Previous experience servicing and repairing commercial air conditioning systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good knowledge of split, multi-split and VRF/VRV equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and customer-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on refrigeration equipment.
- Manufacturer training or experience with Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Fujitsu, Toshiba or similar systems.
- Electrical fault-finding experience.
- Experience completing commercial air conditioning installations.
- Experience working in schools, healthcare premises, local authority buildings or other occupied commercial properties.
Salary and Benefits
- Starting salary of £45,000 per annum.
- 40-hour working week.
- Working hours of 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- Overtime paid at a premium rate after eight working hours per day.
- Travel time paid beyond the first hour of driving, where applicable.
- 22 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
- High-specification company vehicle, generally no more than four years old.
- Company vehicle available for private mileage at 40p per mile.

Probation and Notice Period
The role is subject to a three-month probationary period.
The notice period is one week during probation and one month following successful completion of probation.
