Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swimming Teacher to join our team. The role includes after school and weekend availability. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing swimming lessons to individuals of various ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and educational environment.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for those with a background in sports coaching or teaching to develop their skills within a supportive setting. The Swimming Teacher will play a vital role in promoting water safety, confidence, and swimming proficiency using our 1.1 and 2.1 ratio lessons.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective swimming lessons tailored to the needs of each individual or group
- Ensure the safety of all participants during lessons by adhering to strict water safety protocols
- Assess learners’ abilities and progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement
- Plan and organise lesson plans that align with recognised swimming standards and programmes
- Maintain a clean and organised poolside environment, including equipment management
- Communicate effectively with clients, parents, and team members regarding progress and safety procedures
- Promote water safety awareness and encourage positive attitudes towards swimming and aquatic activities
Experience
- Previous experience in sports coaching or teaching is highly desirable
- Proven ability to instruct individuals or groups in swimming or related water-based activities
- Strong understanding of water safety standards and rescue techniques
- Enthusiastic about fostering confidence and enjoyment in learners of all ages and abilities
- Certification in lifeguarding or first aid is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
