The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food production, and extensive kitchen experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, ensure high standards of food safety and quality, and contribute to a vibrant dining experience. The Kitchen Team Leader will be responsible for supervising staff, managing food preparation processes, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for both colleagues and guests.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient service delivery
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to high standards and within specified timeframes
- Lead food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
- Manage team , delegate tasks, and provide training to optimise performance
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development in collaboration with culinary staff
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies as needed, and manage inventory control
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership
- Serve as a point of contact for resolving any operational issues within the kitchen
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant environment
- Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Extensive kitchen experience with knowledge of culinary practices and hospitality standards
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
