Job Summary:
We are looking for a friendly, organised and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our busy and caring veterinary practice.
As the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, you will play an important role in creating a warm, welcoming and professional experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
The successful candidate will be confident, calm and polite, with the ability to communicate effectively and remain composed in a busy environment. You will represent the practice and help maintain the high standards of care and service we pride ourselves on.
Core Responsibilities
- Welcoming clients and their pets in a professional, friendly and compassionate manner
- Answering telephone calls and responding to email enquiries
- Booking appointments and managing the practice diary
- Handling payments and basic financial transactions
- Maintaining accurate client and patient records
- Supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks
- Liaising with clients and helping to guide them towards the appropriate service or consultation
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills and, importantly, is a good listener
- Is friendly, approachable and engaging
- Has strong organisational and time-management skills
- Is confident using computers and IT systems
- Can remain calm and provide accurate information in a busy environment
- Is resourceful, uses their initiative and enjoys finding solutions to problems
- Has a genuine love and understanding of animals and the people who care for them
Previous veterinary reception experience is desirable but not essential – we are happy to consider candidates with strong customer service and organisational experience who are keen to learn.

Working Hours
36 hours per week, including one in four Saturday mornings.
