Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Builder to join our team at MJG. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience across various trades, including carpentry, roofing, masonry, and more. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse & exciting projects. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
Duties
- Constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using a variety of materials and techniques
- Performing carpentry tasks such as stud work, fitting doors and windows, and installing fixtures
- Carrying out roofing work including repairs, installations, and inspections
- Executing masonry work such as bricklaying, blockwork, and concrete finishing
- Operating hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Ensuring all work complies with health & safety regulations and building codes
Skills
- Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, masonry, plumbing, welding, or electrical work
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, chisels
- Competence in using power tools including angle grinders, nail guns, drills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if necessary
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Candidates should demonstrate versatility across trades and a commitment to quality workmanship. A valid driving licence is essential. All roles are paid positions that offer valuable experience within the construction industry.
