Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. This vital role involves providing high-quality support and supervision to residents during the night shift, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to senior care. Previous supervisory experience within a care environment is essential, along with the ability to manage care plans effectively. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs when required.
Duties
- Oversee and supervise the night-time care team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations throughout the shift
- Provide personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies
- Assist with medication management in line with prescribed instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and incident reports
- Support residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, and nutrition
- Ensure the safety and security of the care environment at all times
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care delivery
- Lead by example in delivering compassionate, respectful, and professional care standards
Experience
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a care home or senior care setting
- Knowledge of developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills for liaising with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Driving experience is advantageous for supporting transportation requirements when necessary
- Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations relevant to senior care environments
