IT Technician – Immediate Start
We are currently working with a welcoming and well-established secondary school who are looking to appoint an experienced and reliable IT Technician to join their team on a full-time basis, 5 days per week, with an immediate start.
This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys working in a busy school environment and wants to play an important role in supporting both staff and students with their day-to-day technology needs.
The Role
As an IT Technician, you will provide first and second-line technical support across the school, ensuring that IT systems, hardware and software are operating effectively.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1st and 2nd line technical support to staff and students
- Troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues
- Setting up and maintaining computers, laptops, tablets and other IT equipment
- Supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows environments
- Managing user accounts and permissions, including Active Directory
- Supporting printers, interactive whiteboards and classroom technology
- Assisting with network and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Installing and configuring software and hardware
- Logging and managing support requests
- Ensuring IT equipment is maintained and ready for use
- Supporting the school's wider IT infrastructure and systems
- Providing a friendly and professional service to staff and students
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working in an IT Technician, IT Support or ICT Technician role
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365
- Experience with Active Directory
- An understanding of networks, Wi-Fi, DNS and DHCP
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A patient, approachable and professional manner
- Experience working within a school or education environment would be highly desirable, but is not essential
