Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter (KP) to join our dynamic culinary team. The KP will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring that all food preparation areas are hygienic and well-equipped. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within hotels or restaurants, while contributing to a collaborative kitchen environment.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs and kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Help with the organisation of the kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring everything is easily accessible.
- Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling practices.
- Participate in regular cleaning schedules to maintain a high standard of hygiene in the kitchen.
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation is advantageous but not essential.
- A strong interest in culinary arts and a willingness to learn within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with an ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with kitchen staff.
