About the role:
We have a vacancy for an apprentice to join our busy IT Security Team, based at our Head Office in the North East. You will work closely with the other members of the Security team, assist the IT support team with handling of tickets and calls, whilst liaising with all departments across all Pacifica sites in person or virtually so excellent interpersonal skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
Assist in investigating security alerts and incidents under the guidance of senior analysts
Follow documented procedures, diagrams, and instructions to analyse and remediate security issues
Support the rollout of new security tools, configurations, and controls
Complete routine security audits and checks, ensuring findings are documented and escalated appropriately
Test and evaluate new security technologies as part of continuous improvement
Produce clear procedural documentation and reports
Assist the support team in the remediation of tickets and escalated issues
Talk employees through troubleshooting steps face-to-face, over the phone, or via remote access
Diagnose and resolve system, network, hardware, and software issues
You will need the following skills:
Accuracy and integrity are of the utmost importance and you will also need to have an unwavering eye for detail and be methodical and organised
The ability to maintain a calm, pragmatic approach under pressure
Flexible and able to prioritise a changing "to do" list
Proficient in using a computer
Have a genuine interest in IT and technology
A good foundation in computers and networks and a genuine interest in cyber security
Entry requirements:
An A-Level in ICT
OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT
OR a Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
