Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
- Ensure all kitchen areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized throughout the day, including dishes, utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
- Support the movement of supplies and ingredients around the kitchen to facilitate smooth operations
- Maintain proper waste disposal procedures and ensure recycling protocols are followed
- Help with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during service times when needed
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to uphold hygiene standards in all kitchen activities
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking basics, and kitchen hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
- Basic understanding of health and safety standards related to food handling and sanitation
