We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Multi-Skilled Maintenance Person / Handyman to join us on a full-time basis, helping to maintain Gibson House and our other business premises across Middlesbrough, Ingleby Barwick, Durham and York.
We’re looking for a genuine all-rounder who has practical experience across a number of trades and is confident dealing with the wide variety of maintenance jobs that come with looking after multiple commercial properties.
Ideally, you'll have experience in areas including:
Plumbing – general repairs, leaks, replacing fittings and basic maintenance
Joinery – doors, locks, shelving, fixtures, repairs and installations
Electrical – experience with general electrical maintenance and identifying faults
Painting & decorating – repairs, preparation, finishing and touch-ups
General property maintenance – gardening, repairs, installations, snagging and improvement works
Fixtures & fittings – signage, furniture, shelving and general installation work
You don't necessarily need to be a specialist in every trade. What we're really looking for is someone practical, experienced and resourceful, who can assess a job, know what they can safely tackle themselves and recognise when a specialist contractor is required.
You'll be responsible for helping us stay on top of both planned and reactive maintenance, spotting issues before they become bigger problems and ensuring our premises are kept to a high standard.
The role involves working across several locations, so your own transport and the ability to travel between sites are essential.
